Position Summary

Do you self-identify as a member of the BIPOC community?

Are you someone who either:

  • Grew up in Kingston, Ontario?

  • Studied in Kingston, Ontario?

  • Lives in Kingston, Ontario?

Are you someone who:

  • Gets excited about things that can happen with technology?

  • Enjoys spending time on a laptop?

  • Has taught themselves something before?

  • Is persistent and self-organized?

Are you interested in exploring:

  • How software gets made?

  • Techniques for integrating software development into creative/theatrical development practices?

  • Speaking “tech” to “theatre” people and vice versa?

  • User Experience (UX) Design for audience members and performers? Writing user stories, planning feature development and quality assurance, finding and fixing bugs?

Do you have:

  • An average of 10-15 hours per week (flexible)?

  • A laptop? An internet connection?

  • Do you want to join “The Itinerary: Playtest” team from August 10 - 29, 2020?

If you’re throwing yesses at these Qs, please consider applying to be the Tech-Innovation Intern under the mentorship of Creative Technologist Jacob Niedzwiecki. Jacob’s recent credits include: Jacqueries Part One at SummerWorks, World Ballet Day Live for the National Ballet of Canada, Pillar for TIFF, and Cafe Sarajevo for Bluemouth Inc.

You would join the the creative and technical team working towards an exciting weeklong public playtest of The Itinerary, created by Sébastien Heins, a new live-theatre-videogame presented by The Kick & Push Festival and Outside the March Theatre Company, happening August 24th-29th, 2020.
