Position Summary
Do you self-identify as a member of the BIPOC community?
Are you someone who either:
Grew up in Kingston, Ontario?
Studied in Kingston, Ontario?
Lives in Kingston, Ontario?
Are you someone who:
Gets excited about the intersection of sound, lighting, set, and costume design?
Wants to know more about scenic design?
Is looking for mentorship in theatrical design?
Are you interested in exploring:
How to interpret a script from the perspectives of Sound, Lighting, Set, and Costume Design?
How to manage the needs and scope of a workshop presentation, from the perspective of design?
How to build live-theatre games?
How to creatively iterate?
How to create a “sandbox” for actors to play in?
Do you have:
An average of 10-15 hours per week (flexible)?
A laptop? An internet connection?
Do you want to join “The Itinerary: Playtest” team from August 10 - 29, 2020?
If you’re throwing yesses at these Qs, please consider applying to be the Design Intern under the mentorship of Production Designer Melissa Joakim (2020 Dora Award for Outstanding Scenic Design for Jani Lauzon’s Prophecy Fog).
You would join the the creative and technical team working towards an exciting weeklong public playtest of The Itinerary, created by Sébastien Heins, a new live-theatre-videogame presented by The Kick & Push Festival and Outside the March Theatre Company, happening August 24th-29th, 2020.
