Tech Innovation Intern Update: Akhil

I have had the opportunity to intern with the team of “Itinerary: The Playtest”, an innovative theatrical play presented by Outside the March and Kick and Push festival for the past few days and I loved every single one of them.

An interactive live theatre video game created by Sébastien Heins, it had a lot of unique and unconventional aspects which pleasantly surprised me. My mentor Jacob Niedzwiecki and I had a lot of eureka moments during initial discussions and the design phase was challenging yet exciting. The concept of integrating technological elements into modern day theatre was one of the key challenges. We donned multiple hats throughout the internship phase to tackle them.

As a new grad this has been an amazing learning opportunity and I got to know a lot more about the planning and preparation that goes into a well-executed theatre play. Special shoutout to all the amazing team members of Outside the March and Kick and Push who were supportive and welcomed opinions at every stage and made my stay with them an extremely pleasant one.
