Call for Proposals 2020
The Kick & Push Festival is challenging artists to think outside the box in a series of a month long artistic residencies which will culminate in an original, innovative, live happening which will be experienced safely by our audiences this coming July and August.
Each residency will be composed of up to three weeks of creation, followed by one week of performance. Due to COVID-19, physical presence in Kingston is not required for either phase.
Proposals will be assessed according to the degree to which the audience experience is live, unique, innovative, and compelling. Successful proposals will be logistically feasible and will keep all those involved safe, abiding by World Health Organization regulations and local health recommendations. Proposals that involve Kingston-affiliated creators and/or regional content are especially encouraged. We are eagerly looking for both digital and analogue experiences, and welcome francophone, anglophone, and Indigenous content that spans diverse perspectives.
Each residency will be provided with staffing support, production costs and artist compensation up to $15,000 as per professional industry rates.
